Qualifications:
-Must possess a current Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate (police officer) and must maintain certification qualifications as set forth by the State of Ohio (Peace Officer State Standards)
-Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
-Must have documented post secondary education in the law enforcement field.
-Must have (1) year of documented law enforcement/police experience in a position that required the possession of OPOTA certification. Documentation must come from previous employer on company letterhead and must include a list of job duties performed, company phone number and contact name. Documentation is to be mailed directly to the Employee Services Department of the Toledo Public Schools.
-Must possess valid driver’s license and meet Toledo Public Schools vehicle fleet insurance criteria and maintain the same.
-Must have current satisfactory BCI/FBI criminal records check under ORC 109.572 & 3319.311 and/or other applicable laws and Board policy.
-Must have documented satisfactory evaluations and attendance history.
-Must successfully complete physical demands assessment for the Law Enforcement Officer position and maintain standard requirements.
-Must complete annual firearms qualification and examination.
-Must successfully complete Law Enforcement Officer Aptitude testing.
-Must be keyboard and software proficient and willing to learn those software programs that are specific to the desk.
